The great quest for unconditional love
still can be found in the themes of songs and movies.
And many people’s lives are totally focused on finding and sharing this love.
For these people, love is a lifetime of giving and receiving.
For other people, though, the quest for unconditional love hasn’t yet developed.
It was never launched.
Or it began,
and then died along the way.
And some people, sadly, have given up any hope of finding real love.
They deny it’s existence because it seems so out of their reach.
Unconditional love is a power planted within you.
And it’s also a presence between you and someone else.
It means that you are loved without any conditions.
No “ifs”, no “maybes”, no “one night stands”.
This love always happens within a relationship with at least one other person
who rips you out of yourself
by making a serious commitment to the real you.
Sometimes that other person believes in you more than you do.
Unconditional lovers live beyond themselves.
They live to help others discover
what they already know.
And they are the best friends God has,
because they love the way God does.
For them, nothing else matters much.
