Loving Like You

Lord,
there have been many reasons you have become human.

Some of those reasons I may never know.

But I do know you share our humanity
so that I can meet you.

And you have made sure that any of us can find you
                in ways we can understand.

How many people still don’t know you’re here?
Or that you are the reason they’re here?

I know you reveal yourself to them all day, everyday.
    Why don’t they see it?
    Why can’t they feel it?

Maybe they don’t know what they mean to you.
I am willing to help.

When I love people unconditionally,
        they experience your love.

When I forgive people who hurt me,
I refuse to continue the hurt in this world.
In a small way I am loving like you do.

When I care for the “undeserving” people
who “should really be helping themselves”,
I am caring for them without conditions.

Let me be a place where your love can be seen and felt
by those who have lost track of you.

I can’t be the only one who believes like this,
so I am still looking for a way
to connect with other friends of yours
who are also loving like you.

I know they’re around,
but I need to be with them sometimes.

How are you loving this world these days?

Show me
and I will go with you,
and I’ll bring some of your friends with me.
