Lord,
sometimes I feel tired from all my work and worries.
And severely under-appreciated.
I’ve got another meeting to attend
another issue to address,
another event to plan,
another phone call to make.
My next day off is already scheduled for the afterlife.
It’s a good thing, Lord, that you picked ordinary people as your apostles.
I do my best,
but it never seems enough.
Today,
I place it all before you
because you care for this world far more than I.
I try to serve your people,
but they feel like mine.
Let me do the best I can with the resources you have given me,
and realize that you have called others to be partners with us in ministry.
Thank you for those I serve,
for those who help,
and for those who believe.
Help me remain refreshed,
safe,
connected with your people,
and close to you.
Thank you, Lord,
for this moment with you,
and for all the love you keep showing me.
Let me rest in the knowledge that
I do your work for young people,
and I live your life now and forever.
