All of us have experiences.
We experience dogs,
cats,
friends,
and enemies.
We experience feelings,
like stress and joy.
We have failures and successes,
boredom and challenges
All of these are part of our experience.
And then, there’s the residue:
the stuff we walk away with
after our experiences,
especially bad experiences.
This residue,
like bathtub scum,
needs to be dealt with,
managed,
rinsed off.
How many times do we walk away from a fight,
a dead friendship,
a failed partnership?
And then, later, we need a personal healing,
a recovery,
or
just a good rinse.
Lord, help me to forgive,
to be forgiven,
and
to forgive myself.
