It happened so suddenly:
three teens at 4:00 a.m.,
all partying,
all friends,
all dead.
By sunrise,
three sets of parents are grieving,
guilt-ridden,
blaming,
and
wishing God had never given out
the gift of free will.
By 9:00 a.m.
the shockwave rolls
through the school,
and
around the community.
Classmates sob, and hug each other.
The compassionate share their compassion.
The preachers deliver their spiritual insights.
But God, Who loved them the most,
brings them home
to a state of being
beyond their wildest imaginations.
If these three teens could come back and talk to us for five minutes,
they would certainly tell us
how uncertain the length of our lives really are.
No one can be absolutely sure of remaining on earth
for one more hour.
These three teens could also tell us one more thing:
God loves us unconditionally,
and wants a relationship with us...now.
How many chances do we each have left?
