Just Like God

It happens all the time.
But it happened again the other day.

The comment took the visitor by surprise: “You look just like him”

He was going back to his boyhood on a roots experience,
walking around tho old small town,
trying to connect with one branch of his family history.

Such a simple phrase “You look just like him or her”

On a spiritual level,
who has ever accused you or me of looking just like God?

What would they have to know about God to be able to say that?

And what would they be seeing in us?
    Penetrating eyes?
    A beard?
Lightning shoting out of our ears?
    A stick for crushing enemies?

What would they sense in us?
    An unselfish personality?
    An air of confidence?
    The ability to work miracles?

And yet, as we walk daily through
        our earthly family and friends,
looking for our next Godly roots experience,
            has anyone stopped us recently
and told us we remind them of God?

What would have to change in us
                for that to happen?

Answer that,
and you have set yourself some nice goals
for the rest of your life!
